Homeschool On A Private Island

Wouldn’t it be cool to have a whole island all to ourselves? Somewhere kids can run around all day, just exploring and making friends, without any worries about strangers or traffic? Well, we’ve hired an entire island and we’re making it happen!

We’ve been around the world and done some amazing trips, but this one is up there with the best of them.

The island is absolutely beautiful and the feeling of being able to walk anywhere you like at any time of the day or night without any worries about safety is something that’s impossible to understand until you’ve experienced it.

Where else would you walk down to a dock in the middle of the night and sit with your headphones on, just watching the moon reflect on the ocean?

The island is located on the Whitsundays, not far from Airlie Beach, where the water is clear and warm and the weather is perfect. There’s an incredible coral garden just off the beach, full of colourful fish and coral of every shape and size.

We’ll each stay in our own luxury ensuite villa and have unlimited, free access to snorkel gear, kayaks, fishing tackle and stand-up paddle boards. There’s also a tennis court, swimming pool and a small boat that we can take out to fish, snorkel and explore.

  • We are running this trip five times in 2024 and once in 2025

    The dates are 19-22 April, 23-26 April, 25-28 July, 8-11 October, 13-16 October and 21-24 January 2025.

  • Families with kids of all ages are very welcome to join this trip, but we think kids aged 8 and over will probably get the most out of it.

Most of the people who join our trips are homeschoolers, but families with school kids are very welcome too.

This trip is very relaxing and great for kids with sensory issues.

  • As with all out trips, you’re welcome to join in as much or as little as you like.

You can spend all day doing things with the other families, or spend time alone. It’s totally up to you. Everything is very flexible and there’s lots to do, so you’ll never feel pressured to be social.

We just want everyone to have an amazing holiday and create memories with their kids that they’ll have forever. Plus it’s a lot easier and less stressful to holiday with kids if they’re having a great time with friends!

How much does it cost?

The ticket price is $1187 per person. Kids aged 4 and under are free.

There are only 4 villas on the island and it can only accommodate a maximum of 12 people, so places are very limited.

We understand that it’s not a cheap trip, but trust us when we say that it’s worth it. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you and your kids will never forget.

  • The ticket price includes accommodation for three nights in a private villa, unlimited access to snorkelling equipment, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and fishing gear, as well as return transfers to the island by boat. The boat ride takes about 20 minutes.

Transfers to and from Townsville on a private mini bus are also included.

There’s also a tennis court, basketball hoop and swimming pool, as well as all the equipment you need to make use of them.

You’ll have access to a large, well-appointed kitchen and a huge living room with a wrap around verandah and hammocks. There’s a washing machine, coffee machine and ice machine, as well as a microwave, fridge and freezer, but you’ll need
    to bring your own food.

We’ll also set up a private Facebook group just for people who are going on the trip, so we can get to know each other a little bit before we go and keep in touch when we get back.
