Homeschoolers
in Vietnam
& Cambodia
Cambodia and Vietnam are some of the most vibrant, beautiful and historically interesting countries in the world, but taking kids overseas is pretty intimidating. So let’s go together!
We’ll spend 12 days checking out some of the coolest and most fascinating parts of Vietnam and Cambodia. We’ll visit the tunnel system that was used during the Vietnam war, the ancient Angkor Wat temples, the World Heritage listed Halong Bay and the mega busy Ho Chi Minh City.
This is a high end trip. We’ll be staying at five star hotels in the best areas and taking luxury tours. If you’re looking to save some money and want to do a more budget-friendly version of this tour, please let us know. If there’s enough demand we’d love to do that too.

The trip starts on 6 December 2024 and ends on December 17.

If you have kids in your life and you’re keen to make amazing memories and show them the world - this is for you. Most of the people who join our trips are homeschoolers, but families with school kids are very welcome too.
Kids have more fun when they travel together and parents get to relax instead of entertaining them.
Our trips are not the usual group tours. Everything is built around giving kids an opportunity to make friends, have amazing educational experiences and travel at their own pace. You’ll have all the support you need and your kids will have friends to keep them engaged, so you won’t need to worry about entertaining them and can have a more relaxing, less stressful travel experience.
The day-to-day experience of our trips is also very different. We set up a private group chat to talk about options and get to know each other before we go. It’s also a great place to suggest activities while we’re on the trip and it’s perfect for a quick shout out to the group if you’re heading out to the market and want some company. -
As with all of our trips, you’re welcome to join in as much or as little as you like. It’s totally up to you. Everything is very flexible and we understand that some people love to be constantly on the go and surrounded by friends, and others need time to themselves and rest days to recharge
We just want everyone to have an amazing holiday, feel comfortable and have a memorable experience safe in the knowledge that they’re not alone if they need support.
How much does it cost?
The cost is $2850 for adults and $2550 for kids aged 5-13. Kids four and under are free.
The deposit is $200 per person, with the balance due by 1 September 2024. We have a weekly payment plan available.

You’ll travel with other families and a co-ordinator, who will make sure everything runs smoothly and all of the kids have lots of opportunities to bond and make friends. T
he co-ordinator will also let you know what tours and sights are available in each area and will suggest activities for the group to do together.
Flights to and from Vietnam are not included. If you would like a quote for an all-inclusive trip that includes flights, please let us know.
Here’s what we have planned:
Days 1 - 4 - Ho Chi Minh City
We’ll meet up in Ho Chi Minh City on day one. We’ll meet you at the airport and make sure you get to the hotel without any problems.
We’re staying right in the heart of the city in District 1, which is within walking distance of all of the big attractions and jam packed with shops, restaurants and street performers.
We’ll have plenty of free time in the city, so you can relax and stay close to the hotel or book tours of all the local sites.
On day 3 we’ll head out to the absolutely amazing Cu Chi Tunnels, which played a key role in the Vietnam War. The Viet Cong used the 200km long tunnel system to move supplies around, hide from enemies and launch surprise attacks.
We’ll see the kinds of booby traps that were used, talk to a former soldier who fought in the Vietnam War and see the bombs, guns and other weapons that were used. If you’re feeling brave you can even go into some of the tunnels.
Days 5 - 7 - Siem Reap
On day 5 we’ll fly about an hour to the Cambodian city of Siem Reap, which is the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Angkor Wat temple complex. The iconic temple complex was built in the 12th century and is the largest religious structure in the world. It’s beautiful, fascinating and absolutely massive. We’ll take a private tour on day 6.
There will be a rest day in Siem Reap, so you can choose whether to relax by the pool or head out and look around. We’re staying in the historic Old French Quarter, which is one of the prettiest and most vibrant parts of the city.
If you’re keen to look around on the rest day, there are some really fun options, including a tour of the floating village, a Khmer cooking class or a day trip to Phnom Kulen Mountain with its beautiful waterfalls.
Days 8 and 9 - Hanoi
On day 8 we’ll fly about two hours to Hanoi, where we’ll spend two nights in the Old Quarter. It’s one of the busiest and most vibrant areas in Vietnam - packed with scooters, tiny shops, restaurants and bikes. There’s so much to see and do and so many amazing new foods to try.
If you’re keen to get out of the city, there are lots of awesome day trips on offer. You can head out to local villages, visit the Mua Caves or check out the beautiful Mai Chau valley.
Day 10 - Ha Long Bay
Day 10 is an exciting one - we’re heading off on a private overnight cruise. Every family will have their own cabin on the boat, complete with air conditioning.
We’ll swim, visit a fishing village, learn how to cook Vietnamese dishes, visit an island cave and chill on the deck as we take in the amazing World Heritage-Listed site. You can even get a massage on board or have a cocktail and watch the sun set.
If you’re not keen on boats, that’s no worries. You can choose to skip the cruise and stay in Hanoi.
Days 11 and 12 - Hanoi
We’ll head back to Hanoi on day 11 for our final night of the trip. We’ll stay in the Old Quarter again, so you’ll have time to pick up plenty of last-minute souvenirs and have one last amazing meal.
The trip officially ends on the morning of day 12. We’ll say goodbye to the families who are heading home, exchange email addresses and Discord usernames and promise to post lost of photos to the private Facebook group.
